overall climate. We pride ourselves on working within the only field tested model in the UK that adheres to the original scientific emotional intelligence theory.
All of our training programmes have been developed by Dr Marc Brackett and colleagues at the Department of Psychology, Yale University. For over five years we have been working with adults and children to develop these skills within the UK and have
gathered data which shows positive impact on staff relationships, emotion health and well being, better classroom management and general cohesions of groups. Importantly, we have found that emotionally literate students have improved English, Maths, and Science
grades.
We advocate that these programmes are simple to implement as they are integrated into the existing curriculum and improve individual’s quality of life and predict school success.
Why are the programmes we use different to other programmes on social and emotional development? Our programmes are field tested and work on developing the skills of emotional intelligence (EI) as developed by the forefather
Dr Peter Salovey.
We call the model RULER:
- Recognition
- Understanding
- Labelling
- Expression
- Regulation
RULER Programme:
- Adheres to Social and Emotional learning standards
- Is an evidence based programme that builds on competencies of students and adults
- Builds skills in all aspects of life – mental health, relationships, school/work performance
We offer trainings to develop the adult and
child in RULER. Emotional literacy is RULER!
